Description:
For the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, the studio presents "Ornament and Detritus" within the Spanish Pavilion, a site-specific critique of the construction industry’s environmental footprint.
Rejecting the model of constant renewal, the design team utilizes "urban mining" to transform demolition waste into valuable architectural elements. By shifting from recycling to "pro-cycling," the project re-dignifies rubble and offcuts through local craftsmanship and in-situ refinement.
This intervention serves as a manifesto for radical sustainability, arguing that the most ethical future for architecture lies in celebrating and reactivating the material heritage that already exists.
